Sunday, March 1 – 5PM
Ages 7+
The 90-Second Newbery Film Festival is an annual video contest in which kid filmmakers create short movies that tell the entire stories of Newbery award-winning books in about 90 seconds. Creative takes on the material are encouraged — think Charlotte’s Web in the style of a horror movie, or Ramona Quimby, Age 8 done entirely with robots, or The Tale of Despereaux as a musical!
For eight years the 90-Second Newbery has screened the best kid-made movies annually in 14 cities across the USA including, starting this year, Seattle!
The screening, hosted by children’s author James Kennedy (The Order of Odd-Fish) and local author Sundee Frazier, will include films made by kids in the Seattle area and some of the best from around the country.
* Co-presented by Secret Garden Books! Before and after the screening, browse a pop-up store of Newbery-winning titles! *
